Internship Action

Internship Action

FLAGSTAFF INTERNSHIP NETWORK

IMPACTS: High School Graduation; Post-Secondary Enrollment and Attainment

ACTIONS CURRENTLY IN PROGRESS

  • Develop communications tools to explain processes for employers to find an intern and for students to find internships
  • Exploration of a “single point of entry” for coordination of work-based learning (WBL) opportunities
  • Exploration of a structure for middle-school student exposure to career pathways
  • Supporting career exploration and
WBL coordination staff at CCC and FUSD
  • Coordination with REL West and FUSD on college and career readiness strategic plan
  • Develop and support efforts for an October 2019 work-based learning and career exploration event(s) in Flagstaff.

FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS

  • Planning for events in October related to manufacturing month
  • Identify the overlaps and gaps in programs and curricula and strategize for improved alignment.

QUESTIONS FOR FUTURE CONSIDERATION

  • How do we enhance the pipeline to create access to internships for students at other stages of education?
  • How will we create a “handoff” process in the development of a single point of entry for internships?
  • How will we measure our success?
