The multinational cast of Up with People is headed to Flagstaff. Up with People (UWP), which has toured more than 73 countries around the world during the last 55-years, has announced that Flagstaff will be a stop on their 2020 tour. On March 6 and March 7 at 7 PM Up with People will perform public shows at NAU’s Prochnow in Flagstaff. LAUNCH Flagstaff is pleased to partner with the Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence (AzCASE), Northern Arizona University, SUN Entertainment, Coconino County, and Unisource Energy Services to bring the international organization Up with People to Flagstaff this spring.
The Up With People cast will visit Flagstaff from March 2-9, 2020 as a cultural exchange visit while providing specific community service projects for Flagstaff. Their week-long visit will culminate with a performance of Up with People Live On Tour 2020 at the Prochnow Auditorium. FLAGSTAFF June 26, 2019
The community efforts of the Flagstaff Internship Network will be strengthened this fall with the addition of two staff positions at Coconino Community College and Flagstaff Unified School District.
Coconino Community College (CCC) hired a new Internship Coordinator who began work this week. The coordinator will help the college strengthen opportunities for CCC students to gain real life experience in work-based learning opportunities with local businesses. FLAGSTAFF May 23, 2019
This month the City of Flagstaff pledged an initial investment in the Flagstaff preschool expansion three-year pilot project, as part of their budget allocation for fiscal year 2020.
City Council allocated $70,000 toward the first year of implementation for the project. This investment was matched by the Coconino County Board of Supervisors which allocated $35,000 for fiscal year 2020.
The Wharton Foundation followed suit and granted $150,000 over the three-year pilot. Read more “Initial Investment for Preschool Expansion Secured” →
Coconino County Board of Supervisors will consider a Proclamation designating May 2019 as Mental Health Month in Coconino County. The Board’s action aims to increase awareness about mental health as a pledge to eliminate the stigma of and increase awareness for all, that mental illnesses are common and treatable.
We wanted to extend an invitation for your participation during the Proclamation reading on May 7, 2019. As engaged community members with a passion and commitment to addressing mental health and improving well-being for all, your presence signals the support for these community-wide efforts.

On Friday, June 1, 2018, the Flagstaff community joined together in an amazing show of support at the 26thannual Flagstaff Community Grad Night. Local businesses, community members, volunteers, parents, and teachers hosted an exciting and engaging celebration for the high school graduates in Flagstaff. Over 500 students from all of the local high schools and homeschools enjoyed casino games, henna tattoos, inflatables, live entertainment, dodge ball, music, food, prizes, and more. The grand prizes included a custom longboard, $500 cash, a Rocky Mountain Fusion mountain bike, a Dell Inspiron laptop computer, and a 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid!! Representatives from various community groups will join in the festivities including the African American Diversity Council, Hispanic Advisory Council, the NAU LGBTQIA Commission, Veterans VRC, Native Americans for Community Action, YMCA Youth Summer Camps, NAU Senior Companion Program, Sons of Norway, AmeriCorps and the County Wellness Program.
And of course there will be food trucks with samples, or you can purchase lunch! Join in for games and live entertainment too.
