Brainstorm of:

Needs

• Improved access to library for lower socio/economic children
• Birth-5 groups are not connected to early childhood education
• Strengthen Kindergarten transition with regards to literacy
• Increased coordination with hospital nursery
• Address home security
• Better understand the efficacy of increased birth center coordination (need data)
• Communitywide awareness building campaign
• Relationship building

Opportunities

• Professional development for families and caregivers provided by ASCC
• Honor existing traditions (i.e. oral)
• We have the resources
• Expand behavior modeling for parents
• Focus on existing strengths (rather than deficit model)
• Enhancing social connections for families
• Leveraging neighbors/friends
• Leveraging faith communities
