Flagstaff EAA Chapter Seeks Young Pilots

The Flagstaff Chapter of the Experimental Aviation Association (EAA) is seeking candidates to send to the Advanced Air Academy in July 2020. The Academy, held each summer in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, consists of a week of exposure to aeronautical sciences, flight training, aircraft construction, maintenance and restoration among many aviation topics.
The Academy combines in-air and on-ground hands-on activities including ground instruction and introductory recreation flight experiences.
The Flagstaff EAA Chapter is awarding sponsorships to fund all expenses in including transportation and camp fees to successful applicants. Students aged 16-18, by the start of the camp date are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Students interested in sponsorship to the Academy must submit an essay explaining why she or he would like to attend the Advanced Air Academy. The essay must be mailed or delivered to Barney Helmick, Manager of Flagstaff Airport, at 211 W. Aspen Ave., Flagstaff, AZ 86001 by March 6, 2020. There is no minimum or maximum length for the essay.
Previous awardees are not eligible.
